The end of the beginning

The last day of the MKMMA Live Event we got a 30 day follow through program to help us deepen and enhance the experience. Together with the exercises we received some good news and some bad news…
The good ones being that this is easy to do 🙂
The bad ones that it is equally easy not to do 🙁

I instantly made the decision to DO them and, man, am I happy I did!

Don´t worry, I´m not going to ruin this for anyone by telling You about the exercise – just that they helped me thoroughly evaluate not only my MK experience, but my entire life experience so far and made it really clear to me how I got to were I am and where I´m heading.

Let me tell You a story:

A little over 15 years ago I got involved with Network Marketing for the first time, it was a health company and I was approached in my capacity of a medical professional. At some point during a training we were supposed to define what we wanted to contribute and my instinctive answer was that I wanted to affect 1 million people in a distinctly positive way. Needless to say I had no clue as to how to even get close to that number and at the time “how” was very important to me. So I got on with my life, got pretty successful selling the products, never managed to build an effective team and did my best to “forget” or rationalize away the idea of helping a million people.

Long story short, I got out of that company and over the years I worked with a few more, some deals turned out pretty well for me and a few (that were “ground floor opportunities”) folded and went south.

Having been into training a major part of my life and working as a manual medicin professional for years and years the next logical step was to expand into functional training and I started to plan a project where I wanted to provide teenagers with free access to a training and wellness website while financing this by selling the same service under another name to people over the age of 20. Needless to say this never got of the drawing table, just to many challenges at once while juggling the normal day-to-day-stuff of running a small business…

All the while I´ve seen the development in our society from the point of view of a manual medicin professional. Only 15 years ago I saw almost exclusively clients who had actually DONE something out of the ordinary to need my services. Today that applies to few people except athletes who train on a very high level.
Most people I met the last 10 years are in pain for living their daily life, going through their routine of work, commute, enjoying free time and leisure activities.
So what changed? Well the daily routines did, the way we live our life in the modern society did and most of all the way we move (or not) and fuel (or not) changed immensely.

And what does all this have to do with the MK?

Well, I honestly think that everything happens for a reason, that every time we make a choice it leads to the next opportunity for choosing and that every choice shapes how we will choose next and that habits are stacked onto habits until we are controlled by our habits.

Back to Og for a second:
“As a child I was slave to my impulses; now I am slave to my habits, as are all grown men. I have surrendered my free will to the years of accumulated habits and the past deeds of my life have already marked out a path, which threatens to imprison my future.”
Og Mandino, “The Greatest Salesman in the World”, Scroll I

Everyone who´s been through the Master Key Experience knows that habits can be changed and how this is done. On the other hand we also know why we so often failed to change in the past .

“Work is necessary – labor, hard mental labor, the kind of effort which so few are willing to put forth.”
Charles Haanel, “The Master Key System”, Part 7:4

During the past four weeks of going through The 30 Days Thought and Action Plan my mind went back to the thoughts mentioned above time after time and I could not let go of the urge to really make a difference for millions of people health wise, what was still missing was the approach.
Everyone knows that it takes internal motivation to change our habits and I think You´ll agree with me that most adults of today are indeed to caught up in their daily lives to muster that motivation. Even if they learned that better health is actually quite easily achievable.
In his book “Outwitting the Devil” Napoleon Hill talks about what he calls “Hypnotic Rhythm” as the last state of habit that cannot be reversed or changed easily.

“Q: And if I did surprise you and publish it, how long would it
be until you lost your kingdom?
A: Just long enough for one generation of children to grow
into understanding. You cannot take the adults from me. I
have them too securely sewed up. But if you published this
confession, it would be sufficient to keep me from gaining control
of the yet unborn and those who have not yet reached the
age of reason.”
Napoleon Hill, “Outwitting the Devil”, Chapter 6

So the answer must be to influence the young to help them establish healthy habits instead of copying the behavior of their parents.
After all we´re right now, for the first time in known history, looking at a generation with a shorter expected life span than their parents – not really an ideal role model for the future, right?

I´ve got a few ideas down, some people to contact for assistance and support and a weekend of silence in front of me to do some deeper thinking on the subject.

Oh, and BTW, I could use some help here – it´s a pretty big task 😉 – so if You feel this endeavor is something You´d like to take part in, please contact me!

To be candid with You I´ve always felt a little envy towards people who got this “greater than them selves” cause to work for. I always thought that must be awesome – and now I know it is!
I hardly really know were to begin this and now idea how to complete it, I´m just filled with a very fulfilling feeling of gratitude to the process that lead me to this point and am committed to continue trusting that same process.
Equipped with the knowledge, skills and methods from the Master Key Experience I know that anything is possible and thats a good start! Now it´s time to follow my bliss and see where it leads me, looking forward to an awesome journey!

Which leads us right back to our old friend Joseph Campbell:

Week 21 – Old habits die hard…

Lots of thoughts this week, most of them relating to what I perceive as my “old blueprint” raising it´s head and biting me more often than I would have ever expected in week 21.

Then something hit me… I´ve been simultaneously adding in good new habits into my life while still keeping quite a few old ones… And that isn´t really what Og recommended:

“In truth, the only difference between those who have failed and those who have succeeded lies in the differences of their habits. Good habits are the key to all success. Bad habits are the unlocked door to failure. Thus, the first law I will obey, which precedeth all others is – I will form good habits and become their slave.”
Og Mandino, “The Greatest Salesman in the World”, Scroll I

So on the one side I made some HUGE improvements, on the other I let these get mixed up with stuff I should have let go of and the result has been a pretty messed up brain and quite a bit of struggle to get the improvements going…

Two_wolvesIn an earlier post Giving Permission I made reference to the old saying represented in this picture and must admit that I missed to ask a pretty important question…

What if I feed them both???

There are only two types of people in the world, depending on which of the wolves we feed!
Or are there???

“This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.”
Shakespeare, “Hamlet Act 1, Scene 3”

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Sun Tzu, “The Art of War”

If these quotes, and the thousands other like them, have it right this Master Keys Experience wields us into real masters. I´m so grateful that I not only become enough of an observer in my life to identify what´s actually going on (What am I pretending not to know?), I´ve also developed a patience with and love for myself to accept the kind advice from my future self(What would the person I intend to become do next?).

One thing I pretended not to know was that engaging in some of these old habits (and quite a heros-journey-cycle1few of them weren´t even bad ones…) actually made the creation and adopting of new habits harder for me.
Another thing I pretended not to know was that the old bad habits I chose to continue engaging in played the roll of triggers for my refusal of the call. I was obstructing my conscious efforts of being a hero in my own life.
Finally, for here, I created an unnecessary duality within myself that in turn made me miss out on so much joy and fulfillment, being occupied justifying my not so good choices kept me from enjoying most of the good ones I´d made.

So, what would the person I intend to become do next?

First let me go back to something I wrote in that same post:

“I promise to give my future Self the gift of Silence more then once a day, I promise to listen to the Silence often, to educe all the good habits my future Self will ever need and then some more, all the wisdom I´m capable of educing and all the kindness I can imagine.
I always keep my promises!

I hereby declare that I willingly and consciously give myself the permission to access the power within me and allow it to grow, the permission to be the best I can be, the permission to be happy for no particular reason, be in harmony with myself, the world and all creatures in it.
I forgive myself unconditionally for not having granted myself this permission earlier!”

Do You see what´s missing???

I now also give myself permission to put all habits that no longer serve me to rest, I´m grateful for what they have given me in the past as I gracefully and lovingly allow my life to continue without these blessings to allow my journey towards greater and loftier blessings.
Also I give myself permission to be increasingly kind to myself in regard to what i perceive as short comings and generously reward any behavior that supports developing the person I intend to become.

This all has led me to make some minor adjustments to my DMP and POA that took more pressure of my heart than I could have imagined. Life is so good!

To round this up I found this video that really inspired me and goes so well along with the MK course, I hope You enjoy it!

Week 17 – Giving Permission!

This week started out with an insight that at the same time was very annoying and deliberating. Well, I guess that goes for most of them…

At the webcast on Sunday Mark brought up the need for everyone to give ourselves PERMISSION to live the life we were born to live, to free ourselves from ”The River of Dreams” and really dig in there chopping of the cement covering the GOLD that´s really us.

Living in the east European time zone it was, as always, way past bed time when we finally got to sleep and on Monday morning I was waking up with a total lack of energy, not only due to the late night on Sunday, the last few weeks had been filled with a series of insufficient sleep, sub-par food choices and late night social media.

To make matters worse one sentence of my DMP reads:

“To fuel my body with the needed energy I chose to eat Paleo 90% of the time, prioritize sleep and work out developing strength, conditioning and mobility 4x/week or more.”

Which basically means I´ve been lying to myself 3x/day or, to be less harsh, at least failed to meet my own standard for my future self…

Not really my favorite insight on any morning…

So, where did this all come from?

Well, of course from my ”old blueprint” fighting the change, the ”cement” clinging on to me and old (bad) habits lifting their dragon heads spitting venom at the new reality.

All starting with my decision to put some serious effort into my business followed by a major, though surprisingly easy, increase in activity.

What seemed easy to accomplish became fought against on another level, all because – and here we go – I had´t given myself PERMISSION to be the person I intend to become. I was DOING the right things right in one area and at the same time subconsciously setting myself up for temporary defeat by undermining my own energy levels and over time making what had become easy through working the exercises of the Master Key Experience hard to do through self sabotage.

Hmm, how is that for being ”the observer” – I´m pretty darn proud of catching myself just two short weeks into this and being able to make the conscious choice to change that subconscious behavior.

And the best part is that just a short time ago I would not only not have noticed my slipping that soon, I´d also wasted a lot of time feeling bad about it, beating myself up and reinforcing previous experiences of unworthiness.

Don´t You just LOVE the ”Law of Substitution”, ” The Law of Dual Thought” and the ”Law of Growth”???

This just made me think of the ”sacrifice” part of the DMP, what we´re willing to give up in order to get our dream. Frankly I always had a hard time with that part, both in my own DMP and when helping other people develop theirs. Now it hits me as being merely ”giving up” the person I have been (and that served my survival very well) for the person I intend to become, choosing to

“if I must be a slave to habit let me be a slave to good habits. My bad habits must be destroyed and new furrows prepared for good seed.”
(Og Mandino, ”The Greatest Salesman”, Scroll I)

“3. Difficulties, inharmonies, and obstacles, indicate that we are either refusing to give out what we no longer need, or refusing to accept what we require.
4. Growth is attained through an exchange of the old for the new, of the good for the better; it is a conditional or reciprocal action, for each of us is a complete thought entity and this completeness makes it possible for us to receive only as we give.
5. We cannot obtain what we lack if we tenaciously cling to what we have. We are able to consciously control our conditions as we come to sense the purpose of what we attract, and are able to extract from each experience only what we require for our further growth. Our ability to do this determines the degree of harmony or happiness we attain.”
Charles Hannel, ”The Master Key System”, Part XV

“The same dualism underlies the nature and condition of man. Every excess causes a defect; every defect an excess. Every sweet hath its sour; every evil its good. Every faculty which is a receiver of pleasure has an equal penalty put on its abuse. It is to answer for its moderation with its life. For every grain of wit there is a grain of folly. For every thing you have missed, you have gained something else; and for every thing you gain, you lose something.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson, ”Essays: First Series, Essay III”

“24. It is neither good nor bad, it simply is.
25. Our ability to differentiate it into form is our ability to manifest good or evil.
26. Good and evil therefore are not entities, they are simply words which we use to indicate the result of our actions, and these actions are in turn predetermined by the character of our thought.
27. If our thought is constructive and harmonious we manifest good; if it is destructive and discordant we manifest evil.”
Charles Hannel, ”The Master Key System”, Part XVI

So, lets bring this all together, shall we?

In my understanding this means that there´s nothing wrong with the ”cement”, the ”old blueprint” or the habits created and appropriated by me earlier in life. They all served their purpose in someway, some of them in really good ways.

They just don´t serve MY purpose now, they don´t help me advance my life as I´m becoming the person I intend to become.

And that´s why they have to go, that´s why I just need to release them and let them go in peace – while at the same time consciously appropriating and start to LIVE only the habits that support my future self.

live the life
And I know which habits these are, I have seen them all around and even experienced them in myself at different times – meaning I don’t have to acquire anything, learn anything or create anything, merely educe them from within and let them grow.

“10. Spiritual Truth is therefore the controlling factor; it is this which will enable you to grow out of limited attainment and reach a point where you will be able to translate modes of thought into character and consciousness.
11. Concentration does not mean mere thinking of thoughts, but the transmutation of these thoughts into practical values; the average person has no conception of the meaning of concentration. There is always the cry “to have” but never the cry “to be”; they fail to understand that they cannot have one without the other, that they must first find the “kingdom” before they can have the “things added.” Momentary enthusiasm is of no value; it is only with unbounded self-confidence that the goal is reached.
12. The mind may place the ideal a little too high and fall short of the mark; it may attempt to soar on untrained wings and instead of flying, fall to earth; but that is no reason for not making another attempt.
13. Weakness is the only barrier to mental attainment; attribute your weakness to physical limitations or mental uncertainties and try again; ease and perfection are gained by repetition.”……..

“24. Intuition usually comes in the Silence; great minds seek solitude frequently; it is here that all the larger problems of life are worked out. For this reason every businessman who can afford it has a private office, where he will not be disturbed; if you cannot afford a private office you can at least find somewhere, where you can be alone a few minutes each day, to train the thought along lines which will enable you to develop that invincible power which is necessary to achieve.
25. Remember that fundamentally the subconscious is omnipotent; there is no limit to the things that can be done when it is given the power to act. Your degree of success is determined by the nature of your desire. If the nature of your desire is in harmony with Natural Law or the Universal Mind, it will gradually emancipate the mind and give you invincible courage.
26. Every obstacle conquered, every victory gained, will give you more faith in your power, and you will have greater ability to win. Your strength is determined by your mental attitude; if this attitude is one of success, and is permanently held with an unswerving purpose, you will attract to you from the invisible domain the things you silently demand.”
Charles Hannel, ”The Master Key System”, Part XVII

Which brings us back to ”The Sit” – the other exercises, DMP, shapes 2015-01-20 09.57.06
and colors, mental diet, make over and every other aid – and still, ”The Sit”, the Silence.

I promise to give my future Self the gift of Silence more then once a day, I promise to listen to the Silence often, to educe all the good habits my future Self will ever need and then some more, all the wisdom I´m capable of educing and all the kindness I can imagine.
I always keep my promises!

I hereby declare that I willingly and consciously give myself the permission to access the power within me and allow it to grow, the permission to be the best I can be, the permission to be happy for no particular reason, be in harmony with myself, the world and all creatures in it.
I forgive myself unconditionally for not having granted myself this permission earlier!

So, lets end this rather lengthy post with a rather lengthy video – please bear with me to the end, it´s definitely worth the time!

Week 16 – To Believe or not to Believe…

This week we´re focusing on kindness in the Master Key Experience, kindness that we observe around us and also our own kindness to others.
The effects are remarkable, already after a few days I felt more harmonious, happy and content with my life!
Of course it seems obvious now that this resource for happiness was always there for the taking, I just did not consider it until suggested in the MK.
I hadn´t thought of it, it was not part of my beliefs which leads us to the main topic of this post….
I remember a question I read many years ago in a blog post by Randy Gage:

“Does this belief serve me?”

As my life at the time was far from where I wanted it to be, I know the answer was: NO!!!

  1. I didn´t know what belief didn´t serve me…belief3
  2. I didn´t know what belief would serve me…
  3. If I had I woulnd´t have known how to change it…

That´s kinda defines the term tough luck…

Years later I took the Go90Grow course and in the “Think & Grow Rich” part of it I learned how a THOUGHT charged by FEELING create a BELIEF that causes an ACTION which produces a RESULT

So this brought up as many questions as there were given answers:

  1. What results do I strive for?
  2. What actions are necessary to perform to produce those results?
  3. What beliefs do I need to create that will trigger the necessary actions?
  4. What feelings need to charge my thoughts?
  5. What thoughts do I need to entertain?

And that helped a lot!

So where do I go with this?Always do_

Well, there is probably as many answers to that question as there are people reading this blog post. Everyone has, or at least should have, different answers to the questions above and that goes for the last one as well.

The reason for that is that we have to DECIDE!!!

Decide what we want! What we need to do to get it! What we have to give up! What we are willing to give up to reach our dream! Decide what feelings we want to feel, what emotions we want to experience!

Remember: DMP + PMA + WPOA + MMA

And then… Determine what is the  discrepancy between where we are and where we want to be!

“The difference between my current reality and my vision is defined by the gap between the person I am and the person I am becoming!”

And the gap can only be closed by thoughts, which means we are in total control of closing it!!!

“17. Therefore, to control thought is to control circumstances, conditions,
environment, and destiny.”
Charles Haanel, “The Master Key System”, Part 16

Screenshot 2014-01-11 23.08.47

So lets go about that:

“18. How then are we to control thought; what is the process? To think is to create a
thought, but the result of the thought will depend upon its form, its quality and its
19. The form will depend upon the mental images from which it emanates; this will
depend upon the depth of the impression, the predominance of the idea, the clarity
of the vision, the boldness of the image.
20. The quality depends upon its substance, and this depends upon the material of
which the mind is composed; if this material has been woven from thoughts of
vigor, strength, courage, determination, the thought will possess these qualities.
21. And finally, the vitality depends upon the feeling with which the thought is
impregnated. If the thought is constructive, it will possess vitality; it will have life,
it will grow, develop, expand, it will be creative; it will attract to itself everything
necessary for its complete development.”
Charles Haanel, “The Master Key System”, Part 16

So let us connect back to “belief”:

Skärmklipp 2015-01-17 00.12.50
(click on the pic for expanded view)

What this tells us is that the word stems from the verb “leubh”: to care, desire, like, love(!)

So do You LOVE Your DMP???

Of course You do!!!

And that´s all it takes, remember:
a THOUGHT charged by FEELING create a BELIEF that causes an ACTION which produces a RESULT
