Week 8 – Visualizzzzze

visualizationThe second step in converting a thought or idea into reality is, according to Haanel,  visualization.
Of course this step is preceded by idealization, creating the idea of what I want to achieve, and followed by materialization, the natural result of visualization. In my understanding meaning that the image I hold in my mind does, if strong and emotionalized enough, fire signals in my subconscious mind that in turn trigger actions that effortlessly bring forth the desired results.

“Let me illustrate. Thought results in action, if your thought is constructive and
harmonious, the result will be good; if your thought is destructive or inharmonious,
the result will be evil.
There is therefore but one law, one principle, on cause, one Source of Power, and
good and evil are simply words which have been coined to indicate the result of our
action, or our compliance or non-compliance with this law.”
Charles Haanel “The Master Key System” Part 8, Introduction

So the visualization process is important, even vitally important, to create the blueprint and inject the necessary emotions that stimulate the subconscious to attract the desired outcome. In other words, deciding what I want is not even close to enough, I need to SEE it and FEEL it to put the Law of Attraction to work for me.

“12. A builder cannot build a structure of any kind until he has first received the creative-visualization-for-art
plans from the architect, and the architect must get them from his imagination.
13. The Captain of Industry cannot build a giant corporation which may coordinate
hundreds of smaller corporations and thousands of employees, and utilize millions
of dollars of capital until he has first created the entire work in his imagination.
Objects in the material world are as clay in the potter’s hand; it is in the Master
Mind that the real things are created, and it is by the use of the imagination that
the work is done. In order to cultivate the imagination it must be exercised.
Exercise is necessary to cultivate mental muscle as well as physical muscle. It must
be supplied with nourishment or it cannot grow.”
Charles Haanel “The Master Key System” Part 8

And this is where I have gotten myself into trubbel, deep trubbel….

I cannot remember that I ever had a visual imagination, that I could willingly produce pictures in my mind of anything. Honestly I struggled hard with the photography exercise a few weeks ago, studying a picture of my Marvelous Maria from our wedding day and then finding myself utterly unable to see the picture of my beloved in my mind just seconds after I closed my eyes.
Without further contemplation I jumped to the conclusion that the gift of visualizing in my mind just wasn´t part of my talents and accepted that.

Well, this week taught me otherwise…

“15. Constructive imagination means mental labor, by some considered to be the
hardest kind of labor, but, if so, it yields the greatest returns, for all the great
things in life have come to men and women who had the capacity to think, to
imagine, and to make their dreams come true.”
Charles Haanel “The Master Key System” Part 8

So I just didn´t work hard enough to develop the faculty of visualization. Yet…

And even more concerning, I actually dug myself an ever deeper hole of “non-visualization-capacity” by accepting the difficulty as a permanent part of my make up.

“16. When you have become thoroughly conscious of the fact that Mind is the only
creative principle, that it is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent, and that you
can consciously come into harmony with this Omnipotence through your power of
thought, you will have taken a long step in the right direction.
17. The next step is to place yourself in position to receive this power. As it is
Omnipresent, it must be within you. We know that this is so because we know that
all power is from within, but it must be developed, unfolded, cultivated; in order to
do this we must be receptive, and this receptivity is acquired just as physical
strength is gained, by exercise.
18. The law of attraction will certainly and unerringly bring to you the conditions,
environment, and experiences in life, corresponding with your habitual,
characteristic, predominant mental attitude. Not what you think once in a while
when you are in church, or have just read a good book, BUT your predominant
mental attitude is what counts.”
Charles Haanel “The Master Key System” Part 8

think you can_ford

When this hit me during one of the sits early this week (yes, my mind wandered away from the battleship) I felt just an incredible relief.
I had created this limitation and I could therefore remove it from myself.
I got strongly reminded of this quote by Henry Ford.

I'm Possible
Also I got reminded of Mark J´s take om the word “impossible” that impacted me so strongly at last years Go90Grow live event in Kauai, and that I somehow put aside in just this situation.

Needless to say my ability to visualization and use my imagination took a quantum leap upwards due to this insight and my decision to stop limiting myself and instead use positive affirmations before sitting. Telling myself that I´m a master of visualization has proved helpful and really improved the clarity of the images in my mind.

I´m fascinated by the power of the old blueprint in this regard, working so hard to survive by doing it´s worst to hold me back. Telling me lies that were so easy to believe, just because I heard them so many times.
The capacity to observe these processes in my mind and being able to voluntarily change the unconscious ideas and consciously choose the ideals I want to hold in my mind fills me with gratefulness.
The material of this course, the design and the wonderful service provided by the staff and guides has already made an immensely valuable progress in my life!

A few days ago my good friend Liselott, who went through the MK last year, asked me what the main take home was for me so far.
Without hesitating I answered that I just don´t sweat the small stuff anymore the way I used to – and that in it self is just wonderful!

So, until next week and beyond, build beautiful images in Your mind, be all that You will to beand greet this day with love in Your heart!

I sure will!

Thanks for taking the time to read this post, I appreciate You!

Love your honesty and willingness to dig deeper. You have always had the ability to visualise and imagine. Could you possibly have been told to stop daydreaming by someone when you were a child and so you subconsciously believed this was not acceptable? I know Haanel says daydreaming is not the same as constructive imagination, but I think as a child daydreaming is where we start to use our imaginations. The death of my father when I was a child actually enhanced my imaginative abilities as I would often use it to escape into my own make believe world. I find is brain/subby stuff absolutely fascinating. 🙂

Sandra, thank You for Your comment. Actually I WAS told to be still, quit and stop daydreaming as a kid 😉
I´m sure that is part of why I now have to “re-learn” visualizing. On the other hand that ability is getting developed a lot faster now than I could have imagined so I guess my Subby is starved in that regard and wants to make up for all the years.
      Indeed, it´s an amazing faculty!!!

Claes, this blog post was just what I needed. I am struggling with visualization. And that’s where I quit in T&GR when we had an assignment with the photograph. I just couldn’t see it… And then the battleship.. O my! So I was thinking exactly like you, I’m just not capable to visualize. However, I started a second read of The power of your subconscious mind by Joseph Murphy . It is so based on the Master Key system, only it has real examples how people used this power to achieve anything in their life. So I decided to write an affirmation 3 days ago based on examples in this book. I started reading it, and stopped 🙂 But now that I see that you did the same, it inspires me to go back and start reading that to remove this limitation!! Thank you so much, my friend!!
